I'm so afraid he's going to get hurt in this scary world. <br />
This boy made me a mama, he's a dream come true. <br />
At 4 he can spell his first and last name, as well as a handful of</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">other words. <br />
He can recognize all his letters and numbers to 10. He can count to 20. <br />

And I'm slowly working closer to completing my Masters Degree. <br />
I have faith that this work and sacrifice today will pay off. <br />
I will get a job somewhere I love. I will be home in the evenings, and at night and holudays and weekends. It will all be worth it. <br />
For now I'm tired but in love with my life. </div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/71/0BA3543996905E601081272FBF14200F.png" style="background: transparent; border: 0 !important;" /></a><br />

<a href="http://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/293910_10152385598065096_662547836_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/293910_10152385598065096_662547836_n.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Eliya you are 9 months old!! You are the light of our lives. <br />I wish I could put into words how much we all adore you, especially Logan. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
He is an amazing big brother to you, and youjust light up the second you see him! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Nothing has brought me the kind of joy you sweet babies have, and seeing you love on </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
eachother makes my heart explode. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are such a fun and happy and BUSY girl. You have been crawling fast for sometime, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
you are into everything. You pull up quickly and efficiently, often with a toy in your hand!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can squat down to pick something up and easily be back up! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can walk with furniture or a push toy and just receantly you have started letting go and standing </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
for a few moments at a time with no support!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are so happy and smiley. And its contagious! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are growing quickly but seem so petite to us at the same time!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are 19lbs and 30", which is the 66th %tile for weight and 95th fir height!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You wear size 3 diaper, size 6-12 month clothes and size 2 shoes! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You LOVE to eat! You eat three solid meals a day and you eat everything. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You still nurse 5-7 times, a few of those times are still at night! You will finally take a bottle</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
which makes things much easier on your mama! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You sleep well in your own crib and think mama's bed is just for fun. Stinker.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You have 6 teeth! 4 on the top and two on the bottom, although I think the other 2 down there </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
aren't too far behind. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Your hair is just starting to come in and it sticks straight up in the back, I adore this. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
People always comment on your eyes, they are a beatiful shade of grey and very unique. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Your asian features seem to be much stronger then Logans. You are absolutely beautiful. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You babble lots and we hear consistent mama, dada and Hi, still listening for your version of Logan, I'm sure it will be one of your first words, you just love him so!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Your a happy girl, you do well in the car and you like to shop, especially if I remember to bring snacks. You drink well from a sippy cup! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You favourite toys are your brothers cars! You still like to jump and your exersaucer. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Auntie Dee just taught you how to growl and its pretty hilarious. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ellie, you are an amazing gift. You are strong willed and determined, I think you have quite a bit of your mama in you. I hope that I can teach you to be a strong confident women, to know that there is no limit to your success. You deserve everything you desire if you work at it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I thank God everyday for blessing me with you and your brother. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love you both to the moon and back.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just don't write as much as I should or want too...here's a bit of catch up if anyone is still reading, or perhaps just for me :)</div>

My sweet girl, you are 6 months old! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are such a fun little lady to have around! Time is going by way too quickly!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You weigh 16lbs 12 oz (61ist %tile) and 26" long (52nd %tile) you are just slightly longer and lighter then your big brother was at the same age. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You wear size 3 diapers and 6 month and 6-12 month clothing. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are in size 1 or 2 shoe. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You still let me put those sweet headbands on your head, which surprises many people!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are a BUSY girl! You've had the army crawl down for a few weeks now and this week you are spending more and more time up on your knees! You have also been doing push ups on to your toes! You can also get up to sitting but aren't quite steady enough to let go of one hand. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are such a happy baby. All it takes is a "hi!" and you have a HUGE smile. You get so excited youjust can't even stand straight you do a sweet little twist! You are very talkative and loud, you yell and squeel and we love it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You ADORE your big brother. He gets the biggest smiles. He's pretty in love with you too!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Sleep isn't so great right now. You prefer to sleep in your crib but your still waking several times a night. You go down around 8:30 and your up by 11/12 for your first feed then again around 3/4 and again around 6, and thats often for the day, sometimes I manage to get you back to sleep until 7 or 8. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We just started you on solids in the last week. I planned on doing strictly BLW but you seem to really enjoy the cereal and purees I made for you so we will stick with this for a while. You are finally taking a bottle well but have yet ot have formula, just mama milk. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are a nursing champ, you are still nursing lots, usually mid morning before your nap, again mid afternoon and a few more times in the evenings.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You have a little "lovey" that you like to suck and chew on, you get it to sleep and whenever you are fussy or in your car seat. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You are the perfect addition to our family. You make us all so proud and happy. I wish you would slow down a bit tho, its makes your mama sad! We love you princess pants!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Eliya you are 4 months old! I can't believe how fast time is going by, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
you are growing and changing every day</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You are 14lbs 7oz (50th %tile) and 24 inches long (30th %tile).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You are longer and leaner then your big brother at the same age *he was 15lbs 2oz and 22 inches</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You wear size 2 diaper and are somewhere between 0-3 and 3-6 month clothing.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You are such a happy baby. You smile and coo ALL the time. All it takes is a smile and a "Hi!" and you get so excited. When you smile you let out a little giggle and you get so excited that you twist your whole little body!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You are ticklish especially on the neck and squeel in delight when I lotion you after bethtime each night. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You are a mama's girl and happiest with me. You still love to be worn in our sling</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and your not a great fan of the stroller. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You sleep on your belly and just this week have moved to your crib. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sometimes you sleep thru the night and sometimes you wake up. You were sleeping awesome but this last week has brought about a lot of changes, including in your sleep!<br />
You like to nurse a lot every 3 hours or so, and you WILL NOT take a bottle at all. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This stresses mama out a bit but we will make it work! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You have been rolling back to belly since July 3rd and each day you get a bit better. This week you can also go belly to back, you can make your way right across the livingroom! <br />
You are also creeping a bit, this shocked mama! <br />
You love toys and your little lovies.<br />
You won't take a paci but you love to hold and chew on a blankie. <br />
You are so strong! You like to play in your exersaucer and jolly jumper. <br />
But we have to be super careful because you can excape your bumbo <br />
and sit straight up in your bouncer!<br />
You adore your big brother and he is in love with you! <br />I love watching the two of you together and pray that you will grow into great friends!<br />
Eliya, we love you so much. We aren't sure if you are the last of our babies, but if you are you certainly complete every dream we ever had. <br />

<div align="center">
Eliya, my sweet baby girl you are 3 months old! </div>
<div align="center">
Time is going by far too quickly for me!</div>
<div align="center">
You have turned into such a sweet and happy baby! </div>
<div align="center">
You started smiling in the last few weeks and it just melts me. </div>
<div align="center">
You smile at just about anyone willing to talk to you, and boy do you like to talk!</div>
<div align="center">
You coo and already "talk" to us! <br />We figure once you find real words your going to have LOTS to say!</div>
<div align="center">
You absolutely adore your brother, he gets the most smiles from you. </div>
<div align="center">
And Ellie does he love you! It warms my heart completely to see already the love you have for eachother, he says your his best friend and I hope it stays that way!<br />You are a great little eater! You still nurse every 3 or so hours during the day, and usually only once at night. </div>
<div align="center">
You are a great sleeper. You go to bed around 8 or 9 pm and sleep until 1 or 2 am if you wake and then again until 5:30/6:00am when you come into my bed and nurse/snuggle/sleep till around 8:30. </div>
<div align="center">
You have even given me 8-9 hours once or twice! </div>
<div align="center">
You like ot be held and worn in my ring sling a lot, you are NOT a fan of your carseat or the stroller. You sleep really well in your rock n play, I think it helps your reflux. </div>
<div align="center">
You wear size 1-2 diapers and will likely move to 2 when this package is done. </div>
<div align="center">
You wear size 0-3 month clothes and are just starting to wear some 3-6 month clothes. </div>
<div align="center">
Mommy LOVES dressing you up, you have far too many hairbows and for now you tolerate it REALLY well!</div>
<div align="center">
You won't take a Guk at all but you love to hold on to your blankies and chew on them. </div>
<div align="center">
You weigh 13 lbs! You've grown so much already. </div>
<div align="center">
You still have blue eyes which amazes us all they are so pretty. And you have the best little cheeks and an adorable dimple when you smile. </div>
<div align="center">
Eliya you make us feel so full and complete. You are more then we ever dreamed another baby would bring this family. </div>

I had<br />been off work for several months due to a shortened cervix and cramping. At my<br />34 week appointment I started to have<br />some concerns with my blood pressure, since I had been induced due to this with<br />my son my OB decided to start monitoring me weekly.</div><div align="center"><br />At 35 weeks my OB was away, I saw his partner who decided to<br />do the GBS swab early since my pressures were still elevated and she felt I<br />would be induced once I got to 36/37 weeks. Later that week at 34 weeks 6 days<br />I started having cramping and contractions, as well as some frequent bathroom<br />trips. This persisted for two hours and then subsided. Over the next week my<br />blood pressure remained a concern and I had frequent lower cramps and back<br />ache, as well as bathroom visits. I mentioned to Les and my mom that I thought<br />I was having symptoms of pre labour but I believed it would go on and off like<br />that for weeks. I wasn’t very uncomfortable, and I was enjoying the last few<br />weeks of my pregnancy.<br /></div><div align="center">On Wednesday March 21st I was sore and swollen.<br />My blood pressure was slightly elevated. But I wasn’t having any cramps etc. I<br />took a bath and mentioned to my sister that I thought I would have the baby in<br />a week or two and I would be induced. I saw my OB on Friday and I knew he<br />wouldn’t like my blood pressure. I told her I was a little sad that with a 2nd<br />induction I would never get to experience that “should we go? Am I in labour<br />moment?” I guess the baby heard me….<br /></div><div align="center">I went to bed at 11pm to find Logan had made his way to our<br />bed. I snuggled in next to him. We planned on spending the next day at a local<br />family fun center I was really looking forward to enjoying some time with L.<br />When Les got home I showed him that the baby had the hiccups and you could see<br />the little bum pop up with each one, I even got this on video. Les moved Logan<br />to his bed and we went to sleep around 12:30. I actually fell asleep quickly!<br /></div><div align="center">At 3:45 I woke up in a startle with a full bladder and<br />feeling wet. I ran to the bathroom and sat on the toilet in the dark. I<br />couldn’t believe how much I was peeing. I just kept thinking I can’t believe I peed myself.</div><div align="center"> Then I noticed my pajamas, underwear, legs and tummy were wet. </div><div align="center">Very wet. I was confused to saythe least. </div><div align="center">I knew I had just peed because I felt relief but there was A LOT of<br />fluid there. I made my way back to bed after cleaning myself up and realized<br />the floor and bed were wet as well. I put on clean underwear and they were wet<br />by the time I got to bed. I started to think maybe it was my water, but I was<br />only 35.6 weeks!</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"> I woke up Les and said “I either just peed myself or my water<br />broke”. His response, “you probably peed go back to sleep”. I wasn’t<br />uncomfortable at all so I laid down. I texted a friend to get her opinion and I<br />started googling how to know if your water broke. Even as I was doing this I<br />thought it was ridiculous. I’m an L&D nurse how do I not know if I’m in labour!?<br />I had put on clean underwear (again) and a pad. I laid in bed until 4:50 and I<br />planned on getting up and seeing if there was more fluid, during this time I<br />started to have mild cramping about every 8-10 minutes. When I got up sure<br />enough the pad was SOAKED. I woke up Les and showed him the pad. He agreed it<br />didn’t seem like pee, I called my mom and told her I thought my water broke. I<br />was having some mild cramping but decided I needed to shower. I’m so happy I<br />did! I got in the shower while Les started gathering our things. While I was in<br />the shower I continued to leak and have cramps, I started to believe this may<br />really be it, I was in shock. After my shower I blow dried and straightened my<br />hair, and I tweezed my eyebrows! I can’t<br />believe I did that but I just kept thinking if it was the real thing I<br />wanted to look OK in photos. We loaded up the van and I carried a sleeping<br />Logan out. He woke up and was in a wonderful mood! </div><div align="center">We dropped him off to my mom about 6am.</div><div align="center"><br />I got to the hospital around 6:15am and went straight up to<br />triage. I was still anxious about being sent home for peeing! My colleagues<br />were wonderful to me. They quickly got me on a monitor and I realized while I<br />was cramping regularly they weren’t picking up on the monitor. An amnicator<br />came back positive indicating I did indeed break my waters. They checked me and<br />I was 2-3cm but HIGH and posterior. I was admitted and waited until shortly<br />after 7am, shift change to go down to the high risk unit.</div><div align="center"> I was early and my blood pressure was quite high (135/103).</div><div align="center"><br />After being admitted and discussing my birth “plan” </div><div align="center">(whichwas to get the baby out and try to avoid pain, LOL)</div><div align="center"> we decided that we would start oxytocin as I was feeling<br />cramps but they were not registering on the monitor or very painful. At 8:10am<br />the Dr came in the room (not mine the on call OB would be overseeing my car) to<br />discuss the plan and labs were drawn for routine and PIH blood work. Once all<br />the labs came back good we went forward and started oxytocin at 9:07am. </div><div align="center">The cramps quickly got more intense<br />and were coming every 3-5 minutes, they STILL weren’t picking up on the monitor<br />but I could certainly feel them! </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">At 9:40am I asked for the epidural and the<br />anesthetist came quickly.<br />With my first delivery the epidural did not work well for<br />this reason the doctor did a combination spinal/epidural. Following that I had<br />a slight drop in blood pressure that left me feeling drowsy and slightly<br />nauseated. However it passed quickly. I was very comfortable and spent the next<br />hour and a half resting and texting my friends and family.</div><div align="center"><br />At 11:30 the baby’s heartrate started having some<br />decelerations, I was consciously not looking at the monitor but could hear it.<br />My nurse checked me at this time and I was STILL 2-3cm however my cervix had<br />thinned and come forward, none the less I was a big discouraged. </div><div align="center">The baby’s heartrate continued to drop with each contraction and wasn’t having as many accelerations in between as we like to see. </div><div align="center">The doctor came in and placed both an intrauterine pressure catheter<br />(to measure the contractions from the inside since they were still not picking<br />up well on the outside) and a fetal scalp clip to measure the baby’s heartrate<br />more accurately. At this point I was still2-3cm,</div><div align="center"> and the oxytocin was running at half of the maximum dose.</div><div align="center">The OB on call mentioned needing to consider a<br />c-section if I continued to not progress (no change at all in 5 hrs since<br />admission or 8 hrs since my water broke) or if the baby didn’t tolerate labour.<br />This left me in tears. </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">Around noon I called my mom quite upset and she tried to<br />calm me. Les was started to get scared at this point because I was scared.<br />After these procedures I mentioned to the nurse that while I<br />wasn’t feeling my contractions and I was comfortable I felt A LOT more of the<br />exam then I expected to. Shortly after I started to feel pain in my perineum<br />and then I began to feel the contractions but only on the right side. </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">At 12:20 I got a top up through my epidural in attempt to help with the discomfort I was<br />having. I had NO relief from the top up, and while the right side remained in<br />pain, the left side became even more numb. We suspected the catheter was in too<br />far and called the anesthetist to come and assess, he was in the room at 12:40<br />and adjusted the catheter. They gave me a second top up at this time. At 12:55<br />I continued to have no relief and was breathing thru each contraction. I felt<br />no pressure just discomfort. The nurse decided to check me, </div><div align="center">and I was shocked to hear her say I was 6-7cm! I asked Les<br />to call my mom and let her know I was OK and had some progress, that a vaginal<br />delivery was likely. While Les was still on the phone to her the OB came in and<br />assessed me, I was 9cm at 1pm! Since Les was still on the phone we told my mom<br />and sister to make their way up to the hospital with Logan. This was not our<br />original plan and unfortunately Les’ parents were working, however I didn’t<br />plan on having my baby early either!</div><div align="center"><br />I remained very uncomfortable but was coping well by<br />breathing thru contractions. I knew that things were moving quickly and that<br />helped me to mentally deal with it as well. At 1:13pm the nurse checked me<br />again and I was fully dilated, she said the baby was “low” as well. I felt no<br />pressure, or urge to push just contractions and pain. I didn’t want to push for<br />too long so we waited. </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">Not long after the nurse decided I should at least try<br />to push and see if it provided relief. She set me up to push at 1:25pm and had<br />me do a trial push. She quickly told me to NOT push and asked for assistance<br />and the doctor, she said the baby was right there! Once the doctor was there at<br />1:30pm I pushed thru 2 contractions and at 1:33 after just 3 minutes I heard<br />Lester say “Oh my Gosh it’s a little Logan!” I thought this meant it was a boy<br />however, then the doctor said “OK dad what do we have here?” and Les looked<br />down and said “Oh my God we have a girl!!”</div><div align="center"> I just started bawling at that point!</div><div align="center"><br />Eliya Deborah Joy weighed 5 lbs 12 oz and was 18.5” long.<br />Les cut the umbilical cord as he did with Logan but they couldn’t put her up on<br />my chest immediately because the cord was so short. After she was checked out<br />by the NICU and given APGARS of 9 & 9 I was able to spend some time doing<br />skin to skin and nursing her. She latched immediately. Les brought Logan in<br />alone at first and we introduced him to the sister he had predicted all along,<br />this is when Les bawled! We thought after 24 hrs of treatment we would be headed home<br />today, but her levels went up despite the phototherapy.<br />I am one emotional mama about all of this. I know me sweet girl needs this time and attention and I will do anything she needs. But its hard. Really hard.<br />My sister, Dee had to leave without getting to hold or spend time with Ellie, she only breifly met her in the delivery room. My sister Nee came to town yesterday and has to leave by Wednesday morning, I really hope that Ellie is ready to go home tomorrow and we can enjoy this time as a family. I am very lucky that I was able to get a care by parent room in the NICU, however its isolating. Only grandparents are allowed to visit. My mom has L all weekend so she couldn't. She came up for sometime tonight and that was really nice. But I want to be home.<br /><br /><a href="http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/541913_10151441679095096_506155095_24001984_819611038_n.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 482px; height: 439px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" border="0" alt="" src="http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/541913_10151441679095096_506155095_24001984_819611038_n.jpg" /></a>Logan was allowed one visit. He was excited to see his sister. He kissed her and helped LEs give her supplement. He was very sweet and he is continuously asking for her.<br />I am absolutely overjoyed with my daughter, I still can't believe I have a girl!<br /><br /><a href="http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/560823_10151441118855096_506155095_23999462_1623831451_n.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 533px; height: 470px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" border="0" alt="" src="http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/560823_10151441118855096_506155095_23999462_1623831451_n.jpg" /></a>I feel incredibly blessed by my family. These last few days have been very stressful and emotional but it hasn't in the least taken away from the joy Eliya has brought our family.<br />We figure she is trying to be just like her big brother, wanting to experience all the things he did when born! One thing she's taking after her brother in is her eating skills!<br />Yesterday, Day 3, her weight loss was 3.9% and today she GAINED weight. That is amazing at 4 days! Clearly my milk is in LOL. She's not being supplemented at all and we are feeding on demand, I'm waking her at 3 hrs if she goes that far. She sleeps well in between and has had some alert time in the evenings the last two days. I hope that time is spent at home with her aunties and brother tomorrow!<br /><br /><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com" target="_blank"><img style="border: 0px currentColor !important;" src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/71/0BA3543996905E601081272FBF14200F.png" /></a><br /></div>Sar(Mrs.Teddy)http://www.blogger.com/profile/05897687803697025841noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-297690164226830983.post-57425645108957617782012-03-23T19:45:00.007-07:002012-03-23T22:34:05.840-07:00Ducky is here!<div align="center">Logan is a big brother and he was absolutely right! My heart soars with pride at what a bright and sweet BOY he is becoming, but its just happening so quickly.<br />It makes me wonder WHERE my baby went!<br />In one week he will be 2 years and 8 months. Crazy.<br />He is about 35 & 1/2" tall and just broke the 30lbs mark!<br />He is wearing mostly size 2 clothes and some size 3 shirts. I am buying 3 for the summer.<br />He wears size 7 or 8 shoe.<br />He is STILL in diapers, a size 5 and despite my very best effort he is showing NO progress with potty training. He just doesn't want to at this point. He will when he's ready.<br />We think he is smart, LOL.<br />He can spell his name and recognize all of the letters in his name.<br />He can count to 15 in English and to 10 in spanish. He randomly did this last week and amazed us, and they say TV isn't good for kids (thanks Handy Manny/Dora, LOL).<br />He can sing his ABCs and is getting better at recognizing letters NOT in his name.<br />He knows all his colours and loves to sing.<br />He is a bit of a ham and says the funniest things.<br />He is kind hearted and if I say I'm not feeling well or sad he hugs and kisses me and<br />asks if that made me better.<br />He loves other children, and I've been feeling a lot of guilt about keeping him home from daycare the last few months. Financially I just can't justify it when I am home.<br />I have been making an effort to take him to the early years centre at the end of the street.<br />He loves it there and they have a lot of great early education activities.<br /><br /><br />He loves to be a helper, which I think will be useful when baby is here! This is him helping me make dinner this week. His favourite saying is "I do it by myself" for EVERYTHING!<br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/419357_10151402653895096_506155095_23851200_1454094867_n.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 595px; height: 796px;" src="http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/419357_10151402653895096_506155095_23851200_1454094867_n.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />He is a pretty good little swimmer too! HE wears a puddle jumper and is completely independent with it. He can jump in and swim the entire length of my dads pool! (my dad just bought a house with an indoor pool! Such a nice option for frequent swimming, which we all love).<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/417728_10151395539220096_506155095_23819726_1156115274_n.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 591px; height: 791px;" src="http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/417728_10151395539220096_506155095_23819726_1156115274_n.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />He's getting excited about being a big brother! He has his own baby that he has been testing all the baby toys with! He still insists Ducky is a girl, which I just find hilarious.<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/423568_10151392385595096_506155095_23802986_1392595458_n.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 588px; height: 786px;" src="http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/423568_10151392385595096_506155095_23802986_1392595458_n.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />He is still a great napper, typically napping 2-3hrs a day. Lately he has been asking to "nuggle" me and nap in our bed. It hasn't affected our new bedtime routine, and I feel like I should snuggle him all I can right now before I have a little nursling again in a few weeks!<br />Him and Calvin are good friends, and Calvin likes to join us for naps as well!<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/421664_10151388741630096_506155095_23790085_1942151843_n.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 711px; height: 531px;" src="http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/421664_10151388741630096_506155095_23790085_1942151843_n.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />He is still happy and comfortably rear facing in a Graco MyRide 65. We aren't really sure when we will turn him. We know its safer, and he's just so content it doesn't make sense to make the change. I'm thinking once baby is back there and also rear facing he will be even more content! As you can see there are still several inches above his head for growth before he "outgrows" rear facing. He's enjoying his favourite treat, starbucks hot cocoa!<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/396399_10151337245395096_506155095_23585830_817002837_n.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 591px; height: 790px;" src="http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/396399_10151337245395096_506155095_23585830_817002837_n.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />Back in January we decided to transition L from our bed, cosleeping to a toddler bed. We felt the transition would be easier if we put him into a toddler bed in our room. He has done great! He's still in our room and doesn't seem quite ready to move to his room yet, but he will get there.<br /> I found him UNDER his bed one night a few weeks back! What a funny kid!<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/425557_10151306106330096_506155095_23488737_1280790593_n.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 597px; height: 799px;" src="http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/425557_10151306106330096_506155095_23488737_1280790593_n.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />This is our little family last week on my 29th birthday.<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH3YoKZwiS4UXfglV4Rnkup11eFpEhL_4Af-ouMdcUG8CzqYGU48vv-nVi32do5AOFhWOOQBFxQcCSwF-XQTPu0TfSZPRYJPRSp4iLbL2qX5LfbgdsJS1YhJpEcq0BCJKwIUHnFy2Sti35/s1600/2012+039.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH3YoKZwiS4UXfglV4Rnkup11eFpEhL_4Af-ouMdcUG8CzqYGU48vv-nVi32do5AOFhWOOQBFxQcCSwF-XQTPu0TfSZPRYJPRSp4iLbL2qX5LfbgdsJS1YhJpEcq0BCJKwIUHnFy2Sti35/s400/2012+039.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5720149186179456306" border="0" /></a><br />Last week when I took my belly pic Logan wanted in on the action, here's his baby bump! Still on "watch" for my blood pressure, its pretty consistently 130s/90s, no protein in my urine, and minimal swelling although I have frequent/consistent headaches. I've been very uncomfortable this week and having lots of cramping and even a few episodes of contractions. Nothing to get me overly concerned but I think my body is practicing.<br />I'm really hopeful I will hang on for another week or two! Three would really be ideal, LOL!<br />I have 3 more weeks of classes and then my final is two weeks later. Yup stressful! I'm hoping for an easy delviery and quick recovery!</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I saw Dr.J today, I've been monitoring my blood pressure and watching it slowly creep up since Friday. In the office today it was 144/103, thats HIGH. After some rest and switching arms it was 138/89; better but still elevated from my 120s/70s. I've noticed some minimal swelling in my hands and feet, but nothign overly concerning. </div><br /><div>I was very open with Dr.J and told him how much this scared me. I reminded him that I was induced at 35 weeks with L for pre-e and how quickly I got very sick. I told him perhaps I was paranoid. He thinks my history and symptoms warrant closer monitoring, so I will be seeign him weekly now and getting an NST this Friday as well. </div><br /><div>I have NOTHING ready for this baby, so its going to be hard for me to "stay off my feet and relax" as he instructed. I will do my best but I'm thinking if I get everything including my hospital bag organized this weekend perhaps I will truly be able to relax (minus the basement renos underway, advanced stats course I'm taking and having a 2 year old!). </div><br /><div></div><br /><div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img style="BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BACKGROUND: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px" src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/71/0BA3543996905E601081272FBF14200F.png" /></a></div><br /></div>Sar(Mrs.Teddy)http://www.blogger.com/profile/05897687803697025841noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-297690164226830983.post-91061433020006613982012-02-23T21:39:00.007-08:002012-02-23T22:30:42.919-08:0032 weeks & doing well!<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6bkMsri0zoGrLN7uBX2HtWVrzhy81tsNjnIHAVU7kGYNZyjPx1uhPcYuwxNW4NokhwiGosRn5npFdBBRsgb7eq0588RoaP7sbF3O_mvZAqiweHiVFILGgESzU7s36SFdQOrx6fQOCTnQD/s1600/Vday30wk+009.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5712574697882187730" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 267px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6bkMsri0zoGrLN7uBX2HtWVrzhy81tsNjnIHAVU7kGYNZyjPx1uhPcYuwxNW4NokhwiGosRn5npFdBBRsgb7eq0588RoaP7sbF3O_mvZAqiweHiVFILGgESzU7s36SFdQOrx6fQOCTnQD/s400/Vday30wk+009.JPG" border="0" /></a> Here's Mr.Logan on Valentine's Day. My sister (Auntie Nee) loves to spoil him and sent an edible arrangment for us! We all loved it, especially L! </div><br /><br /><div align="center">This boy is non stop fun these days! And he has the memory of an elephant! Seriously!<br /></div><br /><div align="center">He truly is my world, and as the big day apporaches I'm starting to worry about just how this new little person is going to affect him. We've reached viability, my ultrasound this week showed that while my cervix is shorter then previously its still within the acceptable range (just). Bedrest seems to be helping, I still get occasional cramps and discomfort, espcially if I am up too much. But for the most part they are less frequent and less intense. I hope it stays that way for 10-12 more weeks!<br /><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFxhAMDQxYx7NcjVqGyZI-13R6bZlJaZjLEmSpCulVAQsPzIexhucfae9j_EAqerzVLCdxeipBQLKqd5jrVy1THLSKuMJ8lyvohmg2hAET0duwCvZ6ESHsVrI3fKO493lp4MVqHv6iB_8P/s1600/25+weeks+002.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 214px; height: 320px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5695090539023070866" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFxhAMDQxYx7NcjVqGyZI-13R6bZlJaZjLEmSpCulVAQsPzIexhucfae9j_EAqerzVLCdxeipBQLKqd5jrVy1THLSKuMJ8lyvohmg2hAET0duwCvZ6ESHsVrI3fKO493lp4MVqHv6iB_8P/s320/25+weeks+002.JPG" /></a><br />How far along? 25 weeks<br />Total Weight Gain? About 8lbs I think.<br />Maternity Clothes? YES everything except panties and Pjs!<br />Stretch Marks? Just lots of leftovers from Logan!<br />Sleep? Just OK. I have been having some insomnia where I can't fall asleep until about 2-3am, which is TOUGH. I also wake to go to the washroom a lot and have been having a lot of general discomfort.<br />Best Moment this week? Logan's reaction to seeing Ducky at the ultrasound. He said "there's OUR baby!" and then the baby started moving its hands around he said "she's waving at me! and waved back!" It was so sweet, I'm glad we had to take him!<br />Movement? Lots everyday, mostly when I'm still late at night. You can even see it from the outside now! I've been feeling him or her having the hiccups</div><div align="center"> (or pick ups as Logan calls them!) as well!<br />Food Cravings? Lemonade, cupcakes, salt and vinegar kettle chips<br />Gender? I don't know!<br />Labour Signs? cramps and occasional contractions, stay away!<br />Belly Button? very shallow<br />I miss the most? shopping, our hoped for family getaway and wine!<br />What am I looking forward to the most? Having two little ones in my arms!<br />Milestones? reaching viability!<br /><br /><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com" target="_blank"><img style="border: 0px currentColor !important;" src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/71/0BA3543996905E601081272FBF14200F.png" /></a></div><br /></div>Sar(Mrs.Teddy)http://www.blogger.com/profile/05897687803697025841noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-297690164226830983.post-27996191561226727122012-01-01T23:11:00.001-08:002012-01-02T09:45:36.563-08:00Basement Renovation!<div align="center">We officially are running out of room! I will post some actual home pictures very soon! However, Logan is now in a big boy room (kind of, he mostly cosleeps still) and the nursery, that was meant to be for all of our babies is a play room. A well stocked full playroom!</div><div align="center">We have no where to put poor ducky. Our plan has been to at least do a basic finish on the basement and to have Ducky in the pack n play in our room for the first few months. </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">Well the New Year is here and mama's nesting is in full force! I have no where for this baby! I can't prepare clothes, set up a room, I Ccan't do anything and its got me emotional! </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">We need to get a move on these reno's! We have TONS of plans, and ideas, its time to set them into action, to make them reality~and due to my current activity restrictions my reliance on my husband and FIL (my ILs are helping us A LOT with this project!) is making me crazy!</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">Our dream basement inlcudes (in my eyes, I'm still trying to convince DH and the ILs this is necessary) a beautiful laundry room</div><div align="center"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 191px; height: 288px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5692933965813342242" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglxHs_skcbtypJqWPHaUOwPHuyo8NlI0Uu_1-TbBuLIR-1TdAc4Nwzf2L7ZDW7bs0w03vnFOMxwdqTo4H6jpNH6NYYLG8TvN6VqmsYRind11EIovkIwSCDxg1skWwTydVUjhkhrVILFEc_/s320/66498531967417501_gQRxwgKq_b.jpg" /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Complete with a craft and gift wrapping area! </span><br /><br /><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 191px; height: 287px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5692933902859951922" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeq9UdcNMpB-A6-QbiJdU-S1tPsr-G54xcAvcUaiXzv-xWUB8Gjy698wP7sKnXEFID-IXqfykg69KjTEZIpZQi0V7xa9xNG3j4JZVmWB108qt_LAfOhXS2Nqfo-_CM8bzU11Z8DLstTOJ6/s320/282741682825513600_0zyulYzR_b.jpg" />Right now all of my gift wrap, stationary and crafting things are between boxes<br />in the crawl space and Ducky's closet! Neither of which are very practical!<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgofeoStkW40V2sIVWEJ97oqL2eJ7yXxnT4urh9uNCrwQuWVLnJtQKZ8iZs3AyBRReR0HzprtXGcMGRaQRsO7LHMLplDqntTyROXhrY33q4IVk4U7gY86Fvvlmc_juGGsKs-tkgHEzu74On/s1600/66498531967470519_dqcxKUkd_b.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 192px; height: 127px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5692933842884819794" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgofeoStkW40V2sIVWEJ97oqL2eJ7yXxnT4urh9uNCrwQuWVLnJtQKZ8iZs3AyBRReR0HzprtXGcMGRaQRsO7LHMLplDqntTyROXhrY33q4IVk4U7gY86Fvvlmc_juGGsKs-tkgHEzu74On/s320/66498531967470519_dqcxKUkd_b.jpg" /></a>But for now I would like them to at least dry wall and tile the room, and</div><div>build a closet around my furnace, to at least have it started, the cabinets can come later! </div><div>(I'm being realistic budget and time wise here!)</div><div> </div><div>I also dream of a pantry/storage closet. I've convinced DH, mostly. We will have a 6x6 foot</div><div>storage room, for now it will be tiled and drywalled/painted, the shelving and/or</div><div>cabinets will be another addition in the future, none the less we have some plain</div><div>stacking shelves to put in the and I can CLOSE THE DOOR!<br /></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiJG_aFrUqNqsZqpuN1vYgdCkV-zYB224hKtqe7XEObvsYGUtkaD-vn3Ew4wqweA1r0TC6fwR5I5lpimvHxDxwxpSWLvvDl0fTKiwKLi8Ut0n2ZTIII_EEYziyDJnzvZIAziiEUP7XJ1ZM/s1600/268245721524878253_KP5CTJs5_b.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Ducky is moving so much these days! I just love it. I'm trying to savour every moment of this pregnancy (its hard with #2!!) becuase we really aren't sure if there will be a third little one for us or not. I can't even THINK about this being my last baby but I'm trusting my heart will know when our family is complete. Luckily at just 28 we have many years to decide! My cervix is still short, and I'm continuing to have a lot of cramps and pressure; because of this Dr.J decided its best if I am off work for now. He also started me on progesterone to try and help settle my cramps. I need Ducky to keep growing in there! Perhaps next week I will post another comparison photo from last time! </div><div align="center">Its hard to be on modified bedrest with a two year old at home, however, I can't say how WONDERFUL Logan has been! He spends lots of time snuggling, reading and doing quiet play beside me. He brings me his diapers to change him. And he has been spending a lot more time in indepdent play, his imagination is amazing. He is the best gift I've ever been given. </div><div align="center">Les and I are trying to sort thru soem dynamics. I actually LOST 3 pounds at my last appointment, so that only puts me up about 3 or 4 pounds so far. I'm not having any huge cravings yet and other then headaches I've been feeling pretty good. The cramping that I had last week subsided with rest, but on Monday when I went back to work they picked up again. So as of now I'm home resting waiting to see my OB on Friday, I'm not really sure which direction things will go in from there. I may be on bedrest or I may be working, the good thing is my cervix is closed and long, so who knows what these cramps are about. Being up and doing a lot makes them worse for sure. </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">Here's the pictures from our last ultrasound! We stayed strong and the sex of Ducky is still a surprise!<br /><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/oo30/SarnLes/001_Scan001.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 483px; height: 405px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" border="0" alt="" src="http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/oo30/SarnLes/001_Scan001.jpg" /></a>He or she was sucking their cute little thumb!<br /><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/oo30/SarnLes/002_Scan002.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 488px; height: 373px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" border="0" alt="" src="http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/oo30/SarnLes/002_Scan002.jpg" /></a>And here's a sweet little profile shot! We had a bit of a scare yesterday. I started with some spotting and cramping and pressure. It persisted over the evening and so when Les got home from work we headed into L&D triage. I was lucky that Dr.J happened to be on call. He did a quick ultrasound and Ducky looked great. Strong heartbeat and breech (he or she better flip!)</div><div>My placenta looks low and he thinks there may be a clot causing the bleeding. I'm off work for the week. I'm growing and so is Ducky thats for sure!</div><div>I'm still super busy with work and school and home and the juggle of it all. </div><div>Things are going very well, school is done this coming Wednesday and I will be off for 5ish weeks, I'm so excited for a break! I'm getting a little anxious about next semester but trying not</div><div>to worry too much about it. I trust it will all work out one way or another. </div><div> </div><div>I have a terrible cold right now thats really kicking my butt. I think Logan is starting with it too, </div><div>thank God (as usual) for my mom. She's so helpful and took Logan tonight to let me rest (in between working my 12 hour shifts!)</div><div> </div><div>Dear Ducky, </div><div>Mommy loves you so much already. Today you gave me a couple of good big kicks, just to remind me you were safe and happy in there, and that made me so happy. I feel sad that I don't get to write to you as often as I did your brother. You are letting me be much busier then he ever did! I was on bredrest by now with him, thanks baby. I know your big brother loves you already too!</div><div>He of course came of with your nickname, and he kisses my belly for you and talks to you, but I'm sure you can hear that. He even tries to "share" his snacks and toys with you by putting them in my belly button! We are slowly starting to get ready for you, Daddy has started working on the basement, and hopefully before long we can set up the nursery. Of course you'll be in mama's room for the first while, and if your like your brother for the first few years! LOL</div><div>Please keep getting big and strong and stay put until the spring! I pray every night that God Blessed you my sweet baby, Love you already, mama<br /></div><div><a href="http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/378799_10150985171595096_506155095_22308549_539635460_n.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"></a><br /><div><a href="http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/378799_10150985171595096_506155095_22308549_539635460_n.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"></a><br /><div><a href="http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/378799_10150985171595096_506155095_22308549_539635460_n.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"></a><br /><div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img style="border: 0px currentColor !important;" src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/71/0BA3543996905E601081272FBF14200F.png" /></a></div></div></div></div></div></div>Sar(Mrs.Teddy)http://www.blogger.com/profile/05897687803697025841noreply@blogger.com2
