Sew Exciting!

I mentioned before that I was taking a sewing class as my "me time". It is done now but I am so glad I did it. It gave me a good little break (although some nights it was so hard to leave! I was able to get soem godo sewing experience and now feel confident enough to tackle some simple projects on my own! I am SO excited about some of the things I have made & I am looking forward to future projects! Although I think sewing will be on the back burner for a bit, I REALLY need to get going on my scrapbooking and get caught up on my tutu's & clippies!

These are a set of 4 burp cloths I made for a good friend who will be welcoming he little boy very soon! I hope she likes them!
I am most proud of this next project. I made a cover for my boppy! I used this tutorial, which was very straight forward. I used a bright fun pattern on this side. (The zipper was a little intimidating but actually not to tricky at all!) If you decide to try this it used 1 & 1/4 metre of fabric roughly. Also the notions called for a 24" zipper which I could not find, I got a 22" and it fit perfect, i think a 24 would have been too big!

The opposite side, it is bright orange minky I SO soft. It washed up awesome too! I have enough fabric left to make a few taggie blankets, one for L and a few for gifts as well!

3 months old!!

Logan you are 3 months old! We are amazed by you everyday! Mommy & daddy look at eachother & say "can you believe he is ours!?" You are just so sweet & perfect!
You weigh 13 & a half pounds, mommy used the Wii fit to weigh you! This is the 30th-50th percentile for your age! You sure are getting big!
You wear size 2 diapers and these still fit you pretty good however, at least once a day we have a major blowout to deal with! I think you just like to get dressed up in different outfits!
You are a sweet baby, you smile lots for momma, espcially when I make sunny faces & noises at you. This last week you started sticking your tongue back out at me! You are even laughing a little now, its the sweetest little giggle ever!
You love to eat and are serious about food! When you are ready to nurse or get a bottle you want it NOW, and if I take too long you get really upset, thats really the only thing that gets you very upset!
You have turned into a pretty good little sleeper! You go to bed all by yourself in your crib between 5 & 7 pm ,and onc eyou decide you are ready for bed we better get you there fast! You sleep for 5-8 hrs your first stretch and then 3-4 hrs after that. You take 2 or 3 naps during the day still too!
You are our little snuggle bug! You love cuddling and lounging with mommy & daddy! We love it too!
Last week you rolled over from your belly to your back for the first time! You have not done it again yet!
You still love water & bath time, espcially with mommy or daddy!
You are getting very strong & think you are so big! Mommy tells you all the time, you are a baby & not a grown up! You LOVE to stand up tall or sit up straight! You are getting very good at tummy time too!
You wear 3-6 month clothing mostly, a very few 0-3 month things still fit.

Here is a series of the last 3 months! The biggest change was from 1-2 months by far!

Moving on up!

My little man is growing faster then I ever imagined! Today at our baby exercise & massage class he rolled over from his belly to his back! I was in shock! Its time to get this livingroom baby friendly so he has room to move & roll! I love watching him explore and interact, its fascinating!

The best thing in the world is when his eyes meet mine & I get a giant smile! He certainly knows who his momma is & saves the biggest grins for me!

He can even hold his rattle now & get it in his mouth if I put it in his hand! He has also started batting at his hanging toys on his bouncy chair & playmat! However his favourite thing to look at is the artwork behind my couch! Its black & silver words, I think the contrast really interests him!
He is doign so awesome with tummy time! Especially with that big boy roll he did today! This is a photo from one of our early morning play sessions, we play & read and just hang out the two of us. Even if Les is home he is still in bed!
Its very seldom that Logan ever baths alone anymore! He much prefers (or perhaps we do!) to bath or shower with mommy or daddy. Its become a really special part of our evening routine. Logan loves the water & loves snuggle time in the water. He kicks & splashes & puts his head back to let the shower water splash in his face! What a funny little boy! Tonight he was so relaxed in his shower with daddy that he fell asleep! I just wish I coudl freeze time for a while and keep him just like this, its going by too quickly!

Not me Monday!

Over on Mckmama's blog we use Monday's to get a few things we didn't do this week off our chest!

I most certainly did not serve my entire 10 person Thanksgiving dinner on paper plates to avoid doing a tremendous amount of dishes! nope not me! That would not have been very "green" of me and would have been very very lazy! Not me!

I did not go out & BUY a delcious chocolate cake to serve for dessert this thanksgiving! I love to bake, that would have been wasting money & not being very traditional! Not me!

I did not say my sweet baby needed to nurse, only to go hide out in the nursery and snuggle him for a few minutes to myself! That would not make me a very good hostess & it woudl be using my sweet boy! Not me!

I did not have to spend an obscene amount ofmoney ordering prints from Costco because I hadn't printed any photos in that last 7 weeks! That would be ridiculous and unorganized & very poor planning! Not me!

My Little Pumpkin!

I love fall, it my favourite time of year! This week we went to a pumpkin patch & picked out our pumpkins! I have actually never doent his before but we will make it a tradition from now on. We had a nice time despite the rain & cold! We will wait till closer to Halloween to carve them! It was so nice to have this family day, it made me feel so happy in my heart!

Here is Les, finding his pumpkin, of coures his was the biggest!

Awww, my lil pumpkin! I just want to eat him up! He wouldn't open his sweet little eyes tho!
His shirt was perfect for the day! It said "cutest pumpkin in the patch" and of course that sweet little pumpkin hat topped it off perfectly!

Here I am with my little boy! Finally he opened his eyes!

I am looking forward to all fo the fun exciting moments we have to cherish over this holiday season! I have an entire new joy I never knew before becoming a mommy!

Smiles & Birth Announcement!

In the last few weeks Logan has really starting smiling, it so stinkin cute! He is not just randomly smiling, its at us! It melts my heart! He is doing this really cute chuckle thing with it as well, almost a giggle but not quite yet. He has also started cooing but he is not a really talkative baby yet, they are few and far between! Oh I love this little boy so much!
Last Monday Les & I went on our first big date since Logan was born. We went to a nice dinner and a comedy show to see Russell Peters. We had a really nice night, I missed my baby but is was nice to have a little time together. I knew Logan was in great hands with his Gramma! And my mom is the best, not only did we come home to a bathed, sleeping baby but a sparkly clean house & all my laundry done! Aren't mommies the best!?
I finally finished our birth announcements! I am so happy with how they turned out! The photos are by a local photographer, who gave them to me all on CD. I used Microsoft Publisher to design the announcment and then saved it as a JPEG, then you can just upload it like a photo to any printing place, I used Costco because they are the cheapest here! Then I attached them to black cardstock to give it a more finished/professional look. I used double sided scrapbooking tape to attach it, glue leaves a visible outline. The paper was on sale & so the announcements cost me 30 cents each! What a steal! to make them a little more special I put a blue "its a boy" stamp on the outside of each envelope & used our new custom return address labels from here. They turned out SO cute!

Don't Blink!!

Never has that country song had more meaning to me! I can't believe how quickly time is going by! Logan is 10 weeks old today, which is just completly unbelievable. Our days are so busy! We are doing a few different mom & baby activities which I am really enjoying.

Logan is growing so much! He has started smiling and cooing a lot in this past week. There is nothing like your baby smiling at you because you are his mommy! He for sure knows who I am, as soon as I walk in a room and talk he starts looking around for me. This is the hardest and most rewarding job I have ever had! I will post more pictures soon, and one day I will talk about soemthing other then my little man, one day when I am getting more sleep!
